Prune Crop 2024 is looking good!

One of the most beautiful times of the year on the farm is when the prunes are in bloom!

Every year we replant prune trees into the orchard to replace any that have declined due to disease or old age. This keeps the orchard growing and producing!

Walnut harvest was a success! It always feels good to get all the nuts collected and not have to worry about rain!

Prune harvest 2023 was beautiful! We had a great harvest overall and look forward to processing them for you!

It’s almost time for prune harvest 2023, and the crop is looking good! We are anticipating a heavier harvest this year, which means a lot of prunes for you to enjoy!

Our summer fruit stand is open on Thursdays from 11AM to 5PM while the summer season lasts! We have watermelon, ambrosia, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes and more! You’ll find us in Gridley, south on Larkin Rd, then west onto Chandon Ave.

We tie our tomatoes so they grow vertically and are easier to get to and to pick. Wooden stakes are placed between every three plants and then we tie the entire row, down and back, and keep adding as the plants grow taller.

It’s always fun to see the tomatoes grow! We start them from seed and when they’re big enough, we transplant them in the field

Prune Harvest 2022!

Soil and Leaf samples

We just got done sending in soil and leaf samples from our orchards to the lab to check the nutrient levels and make sure our trees are looking healthy and getting what they need.

Tomatoes

We’ve been picking three to four times a week. Pictured here is Judy and Alise with the picking carts. It’s nice to get the picking done first thing in the morning before it gets hot!

The Stakes Are High

Amber, Jason, and the grandkids helped us put in the tomato stakes while visiting from Montana, and it was a big help!

Spring Planting

Spring is the time for planting, planting, planting! Judy and Alise are planting tomatoes here, with the help of Brad driving the tractor.

Blossoms!

What a beautiful time on the farm, when the prunes are in bloom!

Winter Activities

We’re working on finishing up pruning all the trees before the blossoms start pushing. It’s just around the corner!

We are participating in the Sierra Oro Farm Trail this year! We have one more day we’re open this year: October 31st! For more information see: https://www.sierraoro.org/

Prune Harvest 2021

We had a successful prune harvest this year! The fruit had good size and the weather was somewhat cooler for most of the days we harvested. Now the prunes are getting dehydrated and ready to make their way to you!

Summer Sales

Our beautiful heirloom tomatoes found their way into local Holiday Market grocery stores this summer! Bring on the tomato sandwiches!

Transplants in the ground!

Our transplants are getting big enough to go into the ground. We planted our tomato transplants this week, and we’ll continue to plant more veg over the next few weeks.

Planting

This is the time of year for crop/garden planning and planting seeds! Our tomato seeds are already coming up, and we’ll be planting more seeds soon for melon, corn, squash etc. Summer is several weeks away still, but planting starts now! =)

Winter

The weather has been beautiful the past few days so we have been able to get a lot pruning done on the trees (yay!). Pruning in the rain or damp weather can make the trees’ fresh cuts susceptible to infection so it’s better to prune when the weather is nice!

Happy Thanksgiving from Wooley Farms!

As the leaves fall, we’re starting to prune the trees while the weather is nice. This afternoon sun on the orchard was just gorgeous, and we are thankful for the beauty of the farm.

October- Walnut Harvest time =)

Just in time for yummy fall/winter baking! The walnuts are harvested!

A successful harvest

We finished harvest at the end of August. It always feels good to have harvest done and see the fruit of our labor (literally). The fruit is beautiful, and we look forward to having more yummy prunes for you.

The prunes are starting to change color. Harvest is just around the corner.

Summer Season

We’re full speed with our pickling cucumbers and will soon start picking our heirloom tomatoes. Yay for summer!
